Degrees and Certifications:

Mr. Nathan Peña

I completed my Bachelors of Science from TCU and went on to complete my Masters of Education degree from DePaul University in Chicago. While in Chicago, I performed improv comedy at the famous IO Theatre. After moving back to Fort Worth, I went on to complete my student teaching at Arlington Heights High School.

For the last seven years I have taught AP World History and AP Human Geography at Young Women's Leadership Academy and have been having the time of my life.

I truly love what I teach and try to use my theatrical background to make my classroom as interactive as possible. In my classroom we have competitions, rap battles, and Socratic discussions.

At YWLA I am the sponsor of two clubs. The Gay-Straight Alliance (GSA) focuses on creating a safe space for students to discuss important topics in the LGBTQ community, as well as learn about LGBTQ history. I also sponsor the Dungeons & Dragons Club. In D&D club, students create fictional worlds and characters and then role-play those characters. It is truly as nerdy as it sounds!
