Dual Language
Fort Worth ISD is proud to provide Two-Way Dual Language Immersions Programs at 13 campuses across the District. Our Dual Language Immersion Programs support both English proficient and emergent bilingual students in becoming bilingual and biliterate, attaining high academic achievement, and fostering sociocultural competence. Students who are English proficient may apply for the Two-Way Dual Language Immersion lottery in grades PK-1st grade (depending on campus availability). Students identified as emergent bilingual are eligible to participate in grades PK-5.
Families may begin the application process on April 1, 2023, through April 28, 2023. Families may select up to three campuses as part of the application process. The lottery will take place the first week in May and families will be contacted through the contact information provided in their application. Families will have to accept their selection and register at the campus for participation. For more information, families may go to the Bilingual/ESL / Two-Way Dual Language Application (fwisd.org) website or call our main number at 817-814-2424.

Transfers
-
The Fort Worth ISD District student transfer process has transitioned to a digital format. The Student Transfer Process will utilize a lottery system similar to the Fort Worth ISD Gold Seal programs. Parents may request a transfer from their child’s home school to another campus, where space is available.
A transfer, once made, shall remain in effect as long as the student is in the same school. Parents will be responsible for transporting their child if granted a general transfer.
Public Education Grant (PEG) transfers from low-performing schools will also be accepted during this timeframe. However, a student from a PEG campus may not transfer to another low-performing school. Campuses that have been identified as PEG campuses have already received transfer information.
They are:
- J.P. Elder Middle School
- Leadership Academy at Forest Oak 6th Grade
- Leonard Middle School
- William Monnig Middle School
- Phalen Leadership Academy at James Martin Jacquet Middle School
- Riverside Middle School
Several FWISD campuses have been identified as "limited space" campuses because they are near their maximum enrollment capacity. Students may apply for transfers to these campuses; however, students may not receive the first or second choice of the transfer requested. Please see the campuses identified as "limited space" campuses below:
