Hall of Famer LaDainian Tomlinson Rewards Student Leaders, Families in the Eastern Hills HS Pyramid with Thanksgiving Meals
Hundreds of families from the Fort Worth ISD Eastern Hills High School pyramid were recently presented with food for a Thanksgiving dinner by Team America, the signature social platform of Texas Christian University Trustee and NFL Hall of Famer LaDainian Tomlinson.
Team America partnered with Eastern Hills High School and Albertsons/Tom Thumb to reward the families and student leaders with Thanksgiving meal kits at the annual Giving Thanks event, hosted Saturday, November 23.
This year’s event was moved to EHHS in recognition of the school’s new year-round LT Leadership Program designed to form student leaders at the high school and middle school levels.
More than 100 volunteers, including FWISD Superintendent Dr. Kent Scribner, Fort Worth Mayor Betsy Price, school board trustee Tobi Jackson and Daphne Brookins, EHHS pyramid principals and staff, student volunteers, partners with Mr. Tomlinson’s foundation, and LT himself worked throughout the morning and afternoon distributing meal packages to deserving students and their families.
The Giving Thanks with LT program, established in 2004, is part of Mr. Tomlinson’s signature social platform, Team America. This community service initiative has delivered more than 30,000 turkeys and sides annually to the most deserving families in Southern California, where Mr. Tomlinson played football with the San Diego Chargers, and Tarrant County, where he played for TCU.
