  • This summer I was accepted to the STEM Enhancement in Earth Science (SEES) internship which is in partnership with University of Texas (Austin) and sponsored by NASA.  My team was Moon Exploration where we studied the lunar south pole and designed a habitat that would support five individuals and study the hydrogen content present.  I worked on the power and communications portion of the project.  My team members were from around the country and both my mentors both worked at NASA.  We also had the opportunity to attend online lectures from retired and current NASA and UT employees.  Part of being in partnership with NASA is the need for funding, so when we completed the internship after six weeks of research and final presentations, we were sent a news release to send to our school to show how the program contributed to furthering our education in STEM!

BIG Panther Salute to Mila Jones!
