I am blessed to be serving the community as the principal of H.V. Helbing Elementary since 2014.  I receive both of my degrees from Tarleton State University.  I have been in education since 1999.  I have two daughters, Lus and Eliana, who keep me busy.  My husband and I have been married for 20 years.  

I strongly believe that all children can learn, with the right supports in place.  I want all my students to believe that they can achieve anything.  At Helbing, our students have a Growth Mindset and they have GRIT (Gumption, Resilience, Integrity and Tenacity), they can push themselves to the limit.

My name is Drew Lowen and I am the assistant principal of H.V. Helbing Elementary. I was born in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania (Go Steelers). I am married and have 6 wonderful children and two grandchildren. I attended The University of Texas at Arlington and received my Bachelors and Masters degrees from there. I have been an assistant principal in Fort Worth ISD for 14 years. 

I believe that all children can learn. They will meet all of the expectations you set before them so aim high. I dedicated my life to helping children 22 years ago when I started out as a 6th grade teacher. I look forward to the next 22 years and all the joy it will bring.
