Sam Rosen Elementary School Principal, Alberto Herrera

Greetings, Sam Rosen Family! I look forward to continue working building on our school’s success and growth from last year. If you are returning to Sam Rosen ES, hello! If you are new to the Sam Rosen Family, welcome! We pride ourselves building a collaborative campus culture focused on preparing our student for the future.

I am married and have three children. In my spare time, I am an avid reader, a car-detailing enthusiast, and I love to cook and grill. Originally, from Eagle Pass, Texas, I moved to the DFW area in 2000. I graduated from The University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Arts in History and Spanish. I also have a Master of Education in Educational Leadership & Policy Studies from The University of Texas at Arlington.

This is my twenty-second year in education and my tenth year as a principal. Before coming to Sam Rosen ES, I taught 6th grade Social Studies in Northside ISD in San Antonio, Cedar Hill ISD, and in the Hurst-Euless-Bedford ISD. I also served as an Assistant Principal in Grand Prairie ISD before becoming Principal at Anson Jones ES in Dallas ISD. My passion is pursuing excellence and building leadership capacity in our team as well as instilling a love of learning in all our students. It is my mission to serve the Sam Rosen community and ensure that all of our students get a solid educational foundation. I consider building relationships with our community, communication and collaboration very important. Please let me know if you have any questions, suggestions, or concerns and I will be happy to talk to you. I look forward to working with you once again this school year!

Assistant Principal

It is with great pleasure and enthusiasm to serve as a member of the Sam Rosen Elementary community! I am looking forward to assisting Mr. Herrera and working with the dedicated staff in fostering a positive learning environment for our students. As the parent of two children, ages 4 and 6, I recognize the importance of a strong home-school connection. Parents are every child’s first teacher, and I believe that by working collaboratively, we can ensure your child’s social, emotional, and academic needs are met.

I have lived in Fort Worth all of my life and am a Fort Worth ISD product. My educational experiences in this school district have inspired me to be a part of the teaching profession. I graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington, then from Texas Christian University with a degree in Educational Administration. I have served as an Instructional Aide, 2nd-5th Grade Teacher and as an Administrative Intern at A.M. Pate Elementary prior to be transferred to Sam Rosen Elementary.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns. I am here to support you in any possible way.

Counselor

Greetings students, parents, teachers and staff! It is with great privilege that I, Natosha Farrell, be afforded the opportunity to be your School Counselor at Sam Rosen Elementary School. I believe that the elementary school years set the foundation for developing knowledge, attitudes and skills that are necessary for our children to become healthy, competent and confident learners. I look forward to helping all of our students in the areas of academic achievement, career, and social/emotional development. I have a heart to serve, so I am looking forward to collaborating with our community as a member of the Sam Rosen team.

I hold a Master of Education, to include School Counselor, Principal and Teacher certifications. I started my career as a History Teacher in Lawton Public Schools. I became an Elementary School Counselor in Killeen ISD, and I was a Middle School Counselor and High School Counselor in Mansfield ISD. Prior to Education, I served honorably in the United States Army, so I am a proud Military Veteran.

I am from Alabama (Roll Tide), and I currently reside in the DFW area. The military opened doors for me to reside in several cities in the United States and I also spent three years in Germany, to include a deployment tour in Bosnia. I am a wife and a mother, and I stay connected to my family in Alabama as well. I love traveling and experiencing different restaurants with family, friends and my sorority sisters.

I am excited to join the Sam Rosen family and I look forward to working with everyone as we prepare ALL of our students for success.
