FWISD Offers College Financial Aid Help Sessions

What: College Financial Aid Help Sessions 

When & Where: See schedule listed below 

Summary: The Fort Worth Independent School District, in conjunction with Tarrant County College and other District partners, will sponsor 2019 fall semester college financial aid sessions in October and November at most District high schools.

Assistance will be available in both English and Spanish to help parents and students with completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)/ Texas Application for State Financial Aid (TASFA) application.  

All sessions will begin at 6 p.m. and conclude by 8 p.m. The fall schedule of aid sessions will take place at the following high schools:

 

Oct. 2 –   O. D. Wyatt

Oct. 29 – Young Women’s Leadership Academy

Oct. 8 –   Trimble Tech 

Oct. 29 – Western Hills

Oct. 9 –   South Hills 

Oct. 30 – Benbrook Middle-High

Oct. 10 – Carter-Riverside  

Nov. 6 –   Young Men’s Leadership Academy

Oct. 15 – Arlington Heights 

Nov. 12 – TCC-South

Oct. 15 – Diamond Hill-Jarvis

Nov. 12 – North Side

Oct. 16 – Dunbar

Nov. 14 – Paschal

Oct. 17 – Eastern Hills 

Nov. 14 – Polytechnic

Oct. 23 – Southwest

Oct. 29 – World Languages Institute

Nov. 19 – Success

 

 

 

Parents and students are encouraged to bring the following items to complete FAFSA/TASFA forms:

  1. Federal Student Aid PIN*
  2. Social Security number*
  3. Driver’s license number
  4. Tax records* — or use the IRS Data Retrieval Tool
  5. Records of untaxed income*
  6. Records of all assets (savings and checking account balances)
  7. List of the school(s) the student are interested in attending

 

Pre-registration is not required for any of these sessions, and students and their parents are welcome to attend as many of these events as they find helpful.
