Meals To Go ‘Summer Service’ Will Continue for the Next Four Weeks
Fort Worth ISD’s 2020-2021 academic years begins on Tuesday, September 8 with online virtual instruction.
And, with the start of school, Fort Worth ISD’s twice weekly free breakfast and lunch Meals-To-Go services for children under eighteen will continue for the first four weeks of online learning. That means that any person under the age of 18 can pick up Meals-To-Go at any school, not just the school they attend.
Because of federal rules the District had planned to only allow students attending specific schools to pick up meals at those schools. However with new federal guidelines shared just this week, the District has been given the flexibility to make the process more convenient for parents. During the next four weeks of virtual instruction, families with multiple children in multiple schools may get all their meals at just one location.
Families will also receive meals for six days – including Saturday.
Twice weekly, on Mondays and Thursdays, students and parents may pick up a combination of hot and cold breakfast and lunch meals from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. at any Fort Worth ISD school. This coming Monday—Labor Day -- meal distribution will shift to Tuesday morning.
On Mondays, meals for the week’s first three days will be distributed. To-go meals for Thursday, Friday, and Saturday will be distributed on Thursdays.
