Your Cougars played the #12 ranked team in the state on Thursday evening (5/2) and the Crandall Pirates got the best of us 5-0. We represented Western Hills and the city Fort Worth well playing hard and giving the district champs a closer ballgame than they expected.

With 8 of 9 starters returning next year we are expecting big things at Tower Field in 2020!

The Cougars dropped game 2 to Benbrook 8-4, the boys played hard and hung with one of the best pitchers in DFW.

We will be finishing up district play this week vs Dunbar. Tuesday will be senior night following the game and Friday will be played at Goldstein. Due to Dunbar not having a JV, start time will be 6 PM.

Your Cougars will also be headed to the playoffs.

  • Battle of Benbrook

Posted by Coach Ribinskas on 4/17/2019

Umpire questioning, bodies diving, runs scoring, lead changing, celebration and despair wraps up last nights wild match up in game 1.

Your Cougars battled all game tied 4-4 in the 6th but couldn't overcome a big Bobcat inning eventually falling by the final score of 9-6.

We have a big game Thursday night that will help us hopefully regain 3rd place.

Go check out softball senior night, cheer them on to victory and then come down the block for a 7:30 first pitch.

After losing earlier in the week to DHJ, your Cougar baseball team rallied from down 5-3 scoring 4 in the top of the 7th to take the 8-5 victory on Friday.

Kale Sawin threw 4 innings in relief striking out 7 and went 4-4 with a massive HR to ignite the comeback.

More than likely you have had one or more of my baseball boys in class and more than likely they have driven you crazy at some point BUT let me brag on them for a minute.

Coach Gain the HC from Diamond Hill text me after the game and said our boys showed alot of heart and that's something to he proud of. You know after defeat it takes alot to swallow your pride and congratulate the team that just beat you.

As the late great Tom Petty said, "In a world that keeps on pushing me around but I'll stand my ground and I won't back down."

Your Cougars defeated Carter Riverside 2-0 tonight. The runs weren't plentiful but remember "there ain't no easy way out" this was our most complete team effort to date.

Reagan Smith, Kale Sawin, and Justin Santos combined for 7 shutout innings and only needing 71 total pitches in doing so.

We take on Brewer tomorrow evening at 5:40 in the James Wellman Memorial Tournament.

We take the field again Tuesday night 6 pm at Carter Riverside. Hope everyone stays warm and dry this weekend!
