And that's a wrap...
Posted by Coach Ribinskas on 5/7/2022Your Cougar baseball teams season ended last night at the hands of the #4 ranked Argyle Eagles 13-0.
You would be proud at how these young men competed against one of the top teams in the state.
We return 8 starters from this year's young squad and, as Wade Bowen says, "the sun shines on a dreamer", so here's to big things in 2023.

Playoffs
Posted by Coach Ribinskas on 4/23/2022We did not set any offensive records, win double digit games, or bring home a district championship, but what we did do was show up every day, overcome adversity, frustration, and learned how to compete when the chips were stacked against a young team with a lot of potential over the next few years and by doing that they earned a playoff spot on Friday night vs Eastern Hills.
“Let me start by issuing you a challenge: Be better than you are. Set a goal that seems unattainable, and when you reach that goal, set another one even higher.”
- Herb Brooks
The baseball staff is extremely proud of the strides we've seen in this team throughout the season. They have grown as ballplayers and, better yet, as young men who represent our campus.
We will be taking on the vaunted Argyle Eagles in the first-round. Date, time, and location are still TBD.
Below is a link to order a baseball playoff shirt. All orders will be placed online and shipped to the school. The store will be open until Friday, April 29th at 2 pm.

Last Home Game
Posted by Coach Ribinskas on 4/20/2022In our last home district game of the year the Cougars defeated Eastern Hills 15-4 in 5 innings.
After the first inning, the game was tied 2-2 but the offense came alive for 11 runs in the bottom of the 2nd to allow everyone in the stadium to breathe a little easier.
Thank you to all the staff that came out to support us last night. Cougar baseball greatly appreciates it!
We will travel to Eastern Hills on Friday night to finish district play at 7 pm. You have one more chance to catch your Cougars at home in the regular season as we will be hosting Covenant Christian at 6 pm next Tuesday.
Be on the lookout for playoff shirt orders coming your way soon!

No points for 2nd place...⚾
Posted by Coach Rib on 4/2/2022Cougar baseball finished the season sweep of the Dunbar Wildcats last night in a nearly 3 1/2-hour marathon 17-5.
The Cougars jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the top of the first before having the lead cut to 4-3 in the bottom of the 3rd.
But don't worry, we never lost that lovin' feelin...
The offense tacked on 5 runs in the 5th and 5 more in the 7th.
Andrew Zabala was our Top Gun of the night, getting the win on the mound, recording 8 strikeouts. Isaiah Rotenberry came in in relief and closed out the game in dominant fashion.
"Show me the way home honey", your Cougars will be hosting the Benbrook Bobcats this Tuesday at Tower Field with first pitch at 7 pm.
"I can see it's dangerous for you, but if the government trusts me, maybe you could."

A baseball team consists of 9 positions and none of those positions are class clown, lazy larry, sassy sam, whiney walter or rip van winkle.
