Hello, my name is Maria Lay.  This will be my 20th year in education!  I have taught at DeZavala for 15 years.  I am a TCU graduate. GO FROGS!  I earned a BS in Early Childhood education and also have a Master's degree as a Reading Specialist. I am married to Justin, and we have a daughter named Adriana that we completely adore.

Hello! My name is Mrs. Rodriguez. This will be my 15th year serving FWISD schools. I attended Texas Women's University where I earned my degree in Elementary Education with an emphasis on Bilingual Education. In recent years, I have taught Pre-K, 1st Grade, and 2nd Grade at De Zavala Elementary. It is always a pleasure working with a team of teachers that are as committed as I am to providing students with a loving educational foundation for a lifetime of learning. In my free time I enjoy cooking, reading, shopping, traveling, and spending time with my family.
