    • Kinder, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade teachers, special education teachers, specialized reading teachers, and principals at Tier 3, 4, and 5 campuses (State requirement) 
    • Elementary assistant principals and instructional coaches (District requirement) 

    2021-2022 
    • Kinder, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade teachers, special education teachers, specialized reading teachers, and principals at Tier 1 and 2 campuses (State requirement) 
    • Kinder, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade teachers, special education teachers, specialized reading teachers, and principals that did not complete in 2020-2021, including new staff (State requirement) 
    • Elementary assistant principals and instructional coaches that did not complete in 2020-2021, including new staff (District Requirement) 

    2022-2023 
    • New kinder, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade teachers, special education teachers, specialized reading teachers, principals, assistant principals, and instructional coaches 
    • 4th and 5th grade teachers (optional) 

    2023-2024 

    TENTATIVE 
    • New kinder-5th grade teachers, special education teachers, specialized reading teachers, principals, assistant principals, and instructional coaches 

    HB3 Texas Reading Academies participants receive a stipend (pending funding availability) for successful completion. Participants are paced through the Reading Academies content and supported by TEA certified Cohort Leaders who serve as FWISD Literacy Academies Coordinators.  For more information, please contact the Office of Instructional Initiatives and School Supports.
