Benefits Open Enrollment for the 2023-24 school year is available July 17, 2023 until August 17, 2023, with coverage changes effective September 1, 2023. This is your annual opportunity to update your voluntary benefits. Most benefits roll over or automatically continue this year.
All eligible employees who DO NOT enroll, DO NOT continue their current health coverage, or DO NOT decline health coverage will automatically be considered as declining health coverage beginning September 1, 2023. If you do not take action and your coverage is automatically declined, this action could affect your options for coverage during the year based upon a Qualified Change in Status.
To remain compliant with the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA), all employees should take action to either enroll, decline or elect to keep the same coverage. Employees who are currently enrolled in and DO NOT wish to maintain health coverage after August 31, 2023, are *REQUIRED* to decline coverage during Benefits Open Enrollment or will have the same health coverage as in the 2022-2023 school year.
Must Take Action to Maintain/Have Coverage for 2023-2024:
- Health Care Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA)
- Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA)
- Health Savings Accounts (HSA) (Limited to employees who enroll in TRS ActiveCare HD)
