O.D. Wyatt Valedictorian Finishes High School with Associate Degree, Full Scholarship to California Institute of Technology
Let’s hear it for the outstanding achievements of the O.D. Wyatt High School graduating class.
Graduates have worked hard to achieve academic success and set themselves up for future accomplishments. With them they will carry the support of FWISD and their alma mater.
One such student at O.D. Wyatt who excelled academically is class valedictorian Areeg Al-Dayni.
Her drive for STEM is taking her places!
Ranked among the top of her class at O.D. Wyatt High School, Areeg earned an Associate of Arts degree from Tarrant County College in December 2023. Along with her peers, she will receive her high school diploma on Wednesday, May 29.
Areeg is the recipient of a full four-year scholarship to the California Institute of Technology, awarded by a QuestBridge partner college. Nonprofit QuestBridge recruits high-achieving students from disadvantaged backgrounds and works to help students receive full four-year scholarships to the nation’s top colleges and universities. Through the QuestBridge National College Match program, high schoolers are admitted early to QuestBridge partner institutions with four-year scholarships, provided by the partner college, that fund tuition, housing, food, books, supplies, and travel expenses.
During her high school career, Areeg participated for three years in the High School High Scholar [HS]² program at the Colorado Rocky Mountain School in Carbondale, Colorado. [HS]² offers first-generation and/or low-income students a full scholarship to attend a five-week college preparatory STEM program. Students participate in the program over three summers while in high school.
Congratulations to Areeg and the entire O.D. Wyatt graduating class. We are FWISD proud of you!
