FWISD is incredibly proud of the achievements of the Southwest High School graduating class and look forward to their future successes. Congratulations Class of 2024!

A Texas SkillsUSA champion in Video News Production, Hawaii is advancing to the SkillsUSA nationals competition this June representing Southwest High’s Advanced Media Program. As a high school student, Hawaii wrote stories and took photographs that were published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, she was one of two hosts for the district’s Whiz Quiz finals, and she served on the Superintendent’s Student Advisory Committee. She is attending the University of Houston with plans to pursue a media career.

Boston Martinez

The class salutatorian, Boston, joins Hawaii in representing Southwest High School this June, vying for the national championship in Video News Production in the SkillsUSA contest. As a Southwest High School student, Boston was a member of the Southwest Team crowned champion in Video News Production at SkillsUSA nationals in 2023. His stories and photographs were published in the Star-Telegram. He was the announcer for Southwest football games, a Whiz Quiz co-host, and he produced his own podcast and video sports recap show, “Raider Recap.” Boston served on the Superintendent’s Student Advisory Committee and is a National Honor Society Member. As a student-athlete, he was baseball captain and qualified for regions in cross-country and track and field. Boston will be attending the University of Missouri where he intends to double major in mechanical and aerospace engineering and journalism.
